On Thursday morning congresswoman Rashida Tlaib appeared on MSNBC and during her interview she was questioned about how she felt about the so called “out of context” 9/11 statement Muslim representative Ilhan Omar made at a (CAIR) “Council on American Islamic Relations” meeting. During her live interview Tlaib was asked what she thought about the criticizing Omar was receiving for her statement about 9/11, but Tlaib responded in her defense.
Tlaib stated “They do this all the time to us, especially women of color. They do that. They take our words out of context because they are afraid because we speak truth, we speak truth to power,” Tlaib said. “My sister, Ilhan Omar, what she was talking about was uplifting people by supporting their civil liberties and their civil rights.”
She went on to say, “Taking it out of context, this is just a pure racist act by many of those, hateful acts by those, because she does speak the truth,” Tlaib added. “I’m really outraged because as a person who has gotten direct death threats myself I know that her life is put in more danger.”
“The fact that these people are irresponsibly taking those words out of context and endangering the life of Rep. Omar is immoral, it is wrong, and it needs to be called out by many my colleagues not just myself. They need to stop targeting her this way, it is absolutely putting her life in danger.”
Notice how the “racist” card jumped in back there? Somehow Tlaib misunderstood the question. The reporter didn’t ask Tlaib “how racism was involved” in the backlash over Omar’s statement, she just asked Tlaib what she thought about the criticism Omar was gaining over her comment. But, unfortunately the whole interview magically made it’s way to racial oppression within the first five seconds.
For the last two days leftist news organizations have been headlining their stories about this ordeal as “Republicans are taking Ilhan Omar’s comments on 9/11 out of context to smear her”, but why? What Rep. Omar said was truly “In context”, but for some reason the left is reporting her “some people did something” statement as “out of context?” How could it not be more clear? This morning the liberal mob is taking aim at conservatives for being racist, when all we have said is that Rep. Omar made an anti-American articulation and should apologize.
Although we all could ignore Omar’s rash statement, do we really want to loose a nice chance to get back at the left? The leftists are the ones that started Russian Collusion. The left made a highly educated honest Supreme Court nominee suffer before his family while they attempted to dig into his past and retrieve nothing! But, when one of their own accidentally lets an anti-American statement out about 9/11, they switch into full defense mode.
Overall what Tlaib said on MSNBC on Thursday was completely false. Without a doubt I still would have written this story had it been a middle aged white man that made the bad statement, so why does the left want to make it seem like us conservatives are giant racists?
The truth is Conservatism is not a synonym for racism, but for some reason that continues to be the gospel these days. The left is fast to find fault with everybody outside their drum circle, but when it boils down to their own they are quick to jump on the defense train. Just because I’m a critic of Rep. Ilhan Omar doesn’t mean I am racist towards people of color. Rep. Omar has said and proposed a lot of things I disagree with including free tuition for anyone that makes or comes from a family that makes under $125,000. So, the reason I get portrayed as a racist is because I push buttons on the left and criticize their socialist ideas, and that they can’t tolerate.
Although not long ago Rep. Omar was just a refugee from Somalia, she now is helping the left in creating their socialist plans for America.
The fact is left can try, but currently 42% of America identifies as conservative, while only 20% liberal, and 35% moderate. So, are conservatives racist? No, we just are looking for the truth In a world that doesn’t have much of it.
