“Hate Speech Is Still Free Speech” : The Fine Line Between Crime And Speech

Yesterday If you happened to tune into the politically motivated “The View”, featuring daily a handful of upper-crust feminist chicks that relish the act of bitching. You may have overheard co-host Joy Behar question president Trump’s innocence by asking, “Why can’t he be brought up on charges of ‘hate speech’?” Not that I would consider her statement literal “news”, but I find it to be falsely stated and mostly disprovable.

First off, let’s establish that the term “hate speech” is not a crime. It is a term that was designed by those who felt that it was necessary to have a word to describe the act of one being infringed upon by the ever so unchivalrous “right to free speech!” Essentially an umbrella term for all those who feel apparently “oppressed” by the way American society has treated them.

Secondly, we need to understand what a “hate crime” is. No, Jussie Smollett is not a viable example, but a hate crime is a violent action that pertains nothing to possibly hurtful words. For some reason, the modern day left feels that it is necessary to over complicate terminology to confuse logic with unicorn language. Google defines a hate crime as a violent action committed against a person of specific race, gender, or sexual orientation. It obviously is a special word for a crime committed against someone whose intersectionality score is smaller than 50.

The problem with constantly defining the words hate crime and crime with completely different definitions, is that it allows intersectionality to have a say in what logic has already clearly addressed. In similar words, we should not continue to label crimes based on who committed them and who they were committed against, but based on the evil action itself.

Aside from creating different words that essentially add up to the same definition and give people more reason to be outraged, we have to be able to properly identify when a hate crime is committed. When Michael Brown was gunned down by Police Officer Darren Wilson in 2014, people cried what the white police officer did was undoubtedly a “hate crime.” The media portrayed Darren as a racist officer who intentionally lethally shot an unarmed black man. This of course started controversy in the black community and gave everyone a reason to claim that hate crimes and racism were still prominent within American society.

Presently, leftists have designed an intersectionality calculator in which you enter your race, gender, and sexual beliefs into to receive an intersectionality score. The score ranges from 0-100, 100 being the most privileged, and 0 being, well, a black Muslim transgender man who recently immigrated from Somalia to the United States without a high school education. If that’s you, do me a favor and don’t join the pity party the left seems to constantly be throwing, but instead use your will to work (if you have one) to benefit America’s capitalistic system. Trust me, you know what they say, “If you don’t like it, change it!”
