What Should Be “Eye Opening” To Everyone About The El Paso And Dayton Shootings

First off, I would like to kindly reprimand our media organizations. This week in particular, the week following two more unimaginable tragedies, we are seeing the reappearance of this childish “media game.” What should have been presented as “sick” overall “malicious” acts, were merely painted by the media on both sides as what seemed to be regular occurrences. It was almost delightful for the leftist media when they learned that the El Paso shooter was indeed a “white nationalist”, who supported president Trump, and whose motif was to kill as many Mexicans as possible.

On the other hand, not even 24 hours later after the El Paso shootings on Saturday, another shooting occurred in Dayton Ohio. However instead of the shooter being a white nationalist Trump supporter, it was surprisingly a leftist Elizabeth Warren supporter. Not only did this fact open a new entire line of stories for the more right leaning media to create, it gave me a current personal outlook on how futile and pointless our media can become when given information that could lucidly boost their political points.

When we look at the demonic individuals that commit these atrocities, we can’t just simply assume their actions were provoked by hatred towards people of color, or in some people’s opinions “Trump fandom.” When mass shootings happen, it’s not the correct time to promote your political ideologies to everyone via the media, and hastily condemn the opposite party for instigating the shooter. As much as we would like to simplify the reasons behind these killers acts by blaming somebody or something, we cant.

The veracity behind the shooters of this past weekend, had nothing to do with their political beliefs, but had everything to do with their choice. To kill so many innocent people, you would have to have no understanding of the value of life. To put bullets in the heads of those you don’t even know, you would have to be demonically possessed. To smile while you take the lives of those around you, something very horrifying is wrong with that picture.

Here’s what I think,

Mass Shootings Are Caused By A Variety Of Mental Abnormalities

Although the media and doctors claim mental illness isn’t really a contributing factor as to why these people become shooters, they really can’t say why. This is because we have only recently (last century) started studying the human brain, much less the affect the internet and social media have on it, which have only been in use for the last 15 years.

Reasonably, politicians and news analysts would prefer to claim that these shootings are caused by lack of gun control, or stronger laws that regulate specific fire arm purchases. But in reality, if you wanted to kill mass amounts of people, whose to say you need a gun? Seeing how sick and perverted these individuals are, we realistically need to tackle the root of the problem, which generally always starts before they purchase a weapon.

Pulling The Weed By The Roots And Finding Moral Purpose

In Matthew 13, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

By now, your probably wondering, “what exactly does this have to do with the shootings?” Well, like I said earlier, “the root of the problem starts before the shooter purchases a weapon.”

Every human being has what I believe “a moral purpose”, but it is only the belief in nihilism that stops those from finding it. When you consider your life meaningless, what do you think about other peoples lives? That is the question we should be asking people, not wether or not we need more gun regulations.

The 21 year old gunman Patrick Crusius who gunned down 22 people last Saturday at a Walmart in El Paso, I think we can all agree was “mentally abnormal.” Something prior to the shooting traumatically affected his brain, so much so that his core belief system normalized murder. I believe, somewhere in Patrick Crusius’ life, and in Connor Betts mind, they had weeds growing, not plants. The funny thing about weeds, is even if the weeds are removed and there is nothing planted, it is the weeds that will keep growing.”
